Cala shines a light on cancer support with night golf sponsorship

Cala Homes is supporting Clan Cancer Support's inaugural Night Golf event, helping to raise vital funds for people impacted by cancer across north-east Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.

CLAN NIGHT GOLF LAUNCH NEWMACHAR GC

The housebuilder has partnered with Clan for the unique fundraising challenge at Newmachar Golf Club on Thursday, 29 October 2026, where teams will tee off after dark and experience golf in a whole new light.

Players will tackle six illuminated holes on the club's renowned Swailend course, designed by world-renowned golf architect Dave Thomas. With fairways, holes and golf balls all lit up, the course will be transformed into a striking nighttime setting, creating a memorable and fun challenge for golfers of all abilities.

As headline sponsor, Cala Homes is continuing its long-standing support of Clan Cancer Support and the vital work it delivers across north-east Scotland and Northern Isles.

Fraser Carr, managing director (North) and sales & marketing director (Group) of Cala Homes, said: “We’re delighted to support Clan Cancer Support’s Night Golf event at Newmachar Golf Club. Clan provides invaluable support to people and families affected by cancer across the north-east, and we’re proud to help raise awareness and funds for such an important local charity.

“It promises to be a fantastic and memorable evening, and we hope plenty of teams will get involved, enjoy the unique experience of playing golf after dark, and help make the event a great success.”

Fiona Fernie, CEO at Clan, said: "We're incredibly grateful to Cala Homes for sponsoring our Night Golf event. As a long-standing partner of Clan, their commitment to local communities has helped bring this exciting new event to life.

"Every pound raised will help ensure people impacted by cancer across the north-east, Moray, Orkney and Shetland can continue to access our emotional and practical support services when they need them most."

Teams of four can enter for £300 per team, with each team booking including access to a practice area, a six-hole round of Night Golf, entry to Hole in One and Longest Drive competitions, and a beer and burger in the clubhouse following the round.

One team space and limited sponsorship opportunities are still available for the event. For more information, please contact [email protected].
