At Clan, we have our team of superheroes who make it their mission to support clients in any way they can. This week we spoke to our new E-Commerce and Retail Coordinator, Heather Ramshaw, to get to know one of the many superheroes who have the power to help.
My name is Heather but everyone calls me “Hev”. I am originally from Fochabers (the home of Baxters soup) but moved to Aberdeen in 2011. I am a very proud dog & cat mum, and yes, they have their own Instagram pages. I spend a lot of my free time outdoors these days walking the dog and attempting to climb hills.
Clan wasn’t really on my radar until 2017 when they provided an amazing service for a friend’s dad who was down from Orkney receiving his treatment at ARI. A group of my friends decided we wanted to fundraise for Clan so we “ran” the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon in September 2017 – I use the term loosely as I pretty much waddled over the finish line.
I was absolutely delighted to join Clan and know that the role I play has an impact on the services we continue to provide.
After 12 years working in retail management, I took a year out to study for my diploma in HR then spent the last year or so temping while I figured out my passion – turns out, it’s still retail!
I am hoping I can use this experience to really make an impact in my new role as E-Commerce & Retail Coordinator, exploring different platforms for selling our merchandise and donated items and making our sales future proof.
I don’t like bananas! I think from the age I could communicate that I didn’t like them, I haven’t eaten them in any form other than the odd slice of banana bread.
I really wanted to be a vet but my mum talked my out of it as I can’t handle the sight of blood. Then I wanted to be a weather lady because I thought you had to be called Heather to present it – Heather’s Weather was a nickname (not by choice) for a few years after that!
Captain Tom Moore – who didn’t get goosebumps watching him enjoy his very well deserved flyover?!
01. Pizza is my favourite food however I didn’t eat it until I was 18 years old!
02. I have never been on a boat and am terrified of open water!
03. Country music is a guilty pleasure of mine – I even learned to line dance during lockdown!
