Inverurie Couple Present Special Donation to CLAN
CLAN Cancer Support recieved a special donation recently from a previous 'Win a Mini' raffle winner!
Mike Barron, and his wife Ishbel, presented CLAN's Steph Dowling with £1,000 following the sale of the Mini the couple won in the 2012 raffle.
Mike explains: " As part of Ishbel's recovery from breast cancer earlier this year we took a 14 day cruise to the Western Mediterranean in May. On day four Ishbel fell and smashed her elbow and forearm. After five serious operations over five weeks she is now in a recovery situation but so serious has been the repair that she will never be able to drive a manual car again - hence the sale of her beloved Mini. The remainder of the sale price will go to an automatic car but not before 2018. Her recovery will be a long haul.
"This contribution is in addition to £300 raised in May to celebrate our Golden Wedding."
CLAN Cancer Support Fundraising Team Manager was on hand to thank the couple for their continued and generous support of CLAN and wish Ishbel well in her recovery from her fall.
