CLAN Cancer Support

Tendeka has participated in the team element of the CLAN Landmark Walk since 2015 and is now looking forward to taking part in the rejuvenated event at CLAN at the Castle on 10th September.

Participating in the CLAN walk was initially organised as part of the company's health and wellbeing initiative as well as an opportunity for staff from different Aberdeen offices to get together.

Mhairi Mackenzie, Tendeka HR Advisor, explains: "We selected the CLAN Landmark Walk as it offered a relaxed pace of event, encouraged our employees to gain some fresh air and exercise, and introduced a range of Aberdeen landmarks that some employees may not have known were there. It also gave us the opportunity to support a worthwhile local charity and raise its profile with our employees."

"We are delighted to have our biggest team yet participating in another CLAN walk, we are excited about the new route and hope the weather is kind to us all! The Tendeka Trekkers team now consists of employees, their family and friends and a few of our canine companions. A couple of our employees are even joining us while on maternity leave!

"Through my role in the HR Department, I have had the opportunity of not only helping to organise but be a member of the Tendeka Trekkers since 2015. The Aberdeen CLAN walk is a great opportunity for both Tendeka and our employees to help a local charity with the added benefit of colleagues socialising out with the work environment."

Gillian King, Vice President - Corporate Development & Marketing, added: "I'm looking forward to my first CLAN walk, I'm sure it will be a fun day out and it's for an amazing cause! So many people are affected by cancer and it's great that Tendeka can be involved in the fundraising process."

In March this year, Tendeka moved all three of its Aberdeen offices to Vanguard House, Westhill, to become its new Aberdeen Headquarters.
