Final five sponsors sought for Lighthouse trail!
A leading cancer support charity is calling for five final sponsors for its sculpture trail, which will be taking place in Spring 2021.
Clan Cancer Support has partnered with Wild in Art to bring an exciting new art trail to the north-east, now has 45 sponsors for its 8ft high lighthouses and has just five more sculptures available. The charity has exceeded its initial target of 30 sculptures and is looking to close sponsorship as the painting of the lighthouses begins. The 'Light the North' trail will take place from March to June next year across the north-east including Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.
Fiona Fernie, Head of Income Generation and Business Development for Clan said: "We have been overwhelmed by the response from the business community across the north-east and Northern Isles with 45 lighthouses sponsored so far. With so many of our fundraising events cancelled or postponed this year, it has given us added motivation to make this an event to remember and ensure we can continue to be here for anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis across the north-east and Northern Isles. We would love to have just five more sponsors to help take us to 50 lighthouses and help us to shine a light across even more communities and raise funds for our vital cancer support services."
One sponsor who has recently joined the trail is City Fibre, the UK's largest alternative provider of wholesale fibre network infrastructure, who decided to get involved after seeing news that the trail had got the go-ahead for 2021.

While the trail had been due to launch in September, it was rescheduled to March to ensure people could participate fully. The team at Clan has been hard at work to ensure people have an exciting trail to embark upon in 2021.
