Walkers still sought for Landmark Walk

Keen walkers from the north-east and surrounding area are being invited to take part in a special fundraising event to help celebrate a leading cancer support charity’s 30th birthday.

Registration is still open for CLAN Cancer Support’s Landmark Walk, a 13-mile route that will take in 30 prominent spots in Aberdeen on Sunday, September 22.

The walk, supported by commercial law firm Bond Dickinson, is being held for the first time and forms an integral part of the charity’s birthday celebrations throughout September as it undertakes 30 events in 30 days to mark its 30th year in operation.

Susan Crighton, fundraising manager at CLAN, said: “The Landmark Walk has the potential to be a real spectacle and a fitting celebration of the achievements of the past 30 years.

“The route, starting and finishing next to CLAN House at Westburn Park, will take in 30 monuments and landmarks across the city and should capture the imagination of everyone who takes part.

“We hope that people will be able to join us for a fun-filled day with all funds raised from the event aiding our provision of free support services to anyone affected by cancer across the north-east of Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.”

Walkers need to be over 16 years of age and can take part on their own or as part of a team. Entry costs £10 plus a £1.50 admin fee.
