Tee off after dark at Clan’s new Night Golf event

Night Golf

The fairways of Newmachar Golf Course will be illuminated for a special nighttime golf event this year, with golfers encouraged to tee off after dark and raise money for Clan Cancer Support.

The charity will host its first ever Night Golf event on Thursday, October 29 at Newmachar Golf Course with limited team spots now available for booking.

Golfers will play six holes on the club’s Swailend course, designed by the world-renowned Golf Architect, Dave Thomas.

The holes, fairways and balls will be illuminated during the event to provide a unique experience for golf enthusiasts of all abilities.

Graham Gordon, golf operations at Newmachar Golf Course, said: “Whether you are a seasoned player or looking for a friendly team challenge, this new event is a brilliant way to enjoy the sport in a unique way, all while supporting Clan to help more local people impacted by cancer in your community.”

As well as taking on the course in the dark, golfers will also have access to a practice area and the opportunity to compete in hole in one and longest drive competitions.

Spaces are limited and cost £300 for a team of four which includes six holes of golf and a beer and a burger in the Clubhouse afterwards.

Various sponsorship opportunities are available for local companies looking to support the event with packages available from £250 for hole sponsorship.

Fiona Fernie, chief executive of Clan Cancer Support, said: “We’ve wanted to organise a golf event with a difference for quite some time now and our Night Golf at Newmachar Golf Club promises to be a fun challenge for golfers of all handicaps.

“We’d urge players to book their teams now as spaces are limited and would ask any local businesses who want to get involved to contact us directly so we can ensure they don’t miss out on the opportunity to get their brand recognised at this new event.”

Clan’s Night Golf event will take place from 5pm on Thursday, October 29 at Newmachar Golf Club. Tickets cost £75 for individuals and £300 for a team of four. Each booking includes access to the driving range, a round of six holes and a beer and burger in the Clubhouse.
