SuperCLAN 2013 set to be a roaring success

A fleet of the world’s finest supercars will descend on Aberdeen next weekend (Sunday 14th July) as part of the 3rd annual SuperCLAN event.

Organisers Scott Shand and Ross Gatt, who are also directors of oil and gas recruitment specialists Scoro Solutions, first held the annual charity event in 2010,, and it now attracts an impressive supercar convoy of 40 of the North East’s most prestigious cars to some of Grampian’s finest roads.

Ross Gatt, says, “We look forward to once again welcoming our fleet of prestigious supercar drivers and passengers who continue to lend their kind backing to the cancer support charity, CLAN.

Ross continues, “Scott and I launched the charity event in 2010 due to a shared love of supercars, as well as a desire to appoint a designated chosen charity to our company, to which we would make an annual donation. We combined the best of both worlds and came up with the SuperCLAN event. As self-confessed petrol heads, to combine driving supercars whilst being able to make a considerable donation to charity was an exciting prospect!

“This year we are delighted to see supercars such as the McLaren MP4 - 12C, Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Gallardo, Aston Martin Vanquish, Maserati MC Shift, R8 V10 and Mercedes SLS join our convoy.”

Susan Crighton, of CLAN, says, “CLAN would once again like to extend its gratitude to Scoro Solutions for the organisation of this years SuperCLAN event. All driver entry fees and donations helped SuperCLAN 2012 achieve an amazing £9,815 at last year’s event. This year Scott and Ross are hoping to raise even more. Money raised at the event will go towards supporting anyone affected by any type of cancer at any time, from diagnosis onwards. Whether affected personally, as a carer, family member or close friend, our services are support people in Grampian, Orkney and Shetland. We look forward to next weekends event and hope everyone has a wonderful day.”

The convoy will leave from the Scoro Solutions headquarters in Altens at 9am and will follow a challenging route via Kildrummy Castle, finishing at the Hilton Treetops at 3:30pm. The general public is invited to get up close and personal with the supercars at the finish point.
