Shetland Walk for CLAN

Shetland

Keen walkers are being to ask to help celebrate a local cancer support charity’s 30th anniversary by taking part in a special fundraising event.

Registration is now open for CLAN Cancer Support’s Shetland Walk, which will take place on Sunday, June 9, starting at 2pm from Cunningsburgh Public Hall.

Walkers will have the option to complete either a three or five mile scenic route with all proceeds from the day going directly to CLAN.

Phyllis Stickle, CLAN’s shop and fundraising co-ordinator in Shetland, said: “The Shetland Walk will play a prominent part in our 30th anniversary event calendar and we hope that a number of local people can attend to help us celebrate.

“The walk itself is set to be a fantastic event with all money raised on the day going towards the continued provision of services throughout Shetland for anyone affected by cancer.”

Registration costs £5 for adults and £2 for children and can be made on the day at 1pm or prior to the event by phoning CLAN on 01595 720320. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and Sunday teas will be served in the hall from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
