A popular fundraising event for a leading cancer support charity will return to the heart of Royal Deeside this autumn.

CLAN at the Castle was held at Crathes Castle for the first-time last year and saw hundreds of people take part in sponsored walks and enjoy a family fun day.

The event will return to the 16th century castle near Banchory on Sunday, September 2 and run from 10am to 4pm. Organisers will also launch this year’s Go Purple for CLAN campaign on the day.

There will be three sponsored walk routes and a family fun day with inflatables, entertainment and refreshments.

Registration is now open for the sponsored walks, which cover 1.4 miles, 5.7 miles and 12.3 miles. The walks are suitable for all ages whether you take part as an individual, a family, group or corporate team.

The event is also open to the public with a family fun day full of entertainment planned between 10am and 4pm. People are also encouraged to join in the fun and come along and support the walkers throughout the day.

Steph McCann, CLAN’s fundraising team manager, said: “We were delighted with the first CLAN at the Castle event last year and are very much looking forward to bringing the event back to Crathes Castle in September.

“Sponsored walks have always been popular events for us, and we look forward to welcoming people from across the north-east on the day to help.

“The event will have something for everyone, so we’d urge you to put your best foot forward, bring your family and friends and enjoy a fun-filled day in the stunning Crathes Castle grounds on Royal Deeside.”

Wristbands for the family fun day will be available to purchase on the day for £5.
