Places still available for chilly Boxing Day challenge
Places are still up for grabs to take part in a chilly Boxing Day challenge on behalf of CLAN Cancer Support.
The annual Nippy Dipper event organised by the Aberdeen Lions Club will take place at Aberdeen Beach on December 26 and will see individuals and teams from across the north-east plunge into the North Sea to raise money for a nominated cause.
And CLAN is looking for a group of fearless volunteers to take part and help raise funds for the charity.
Individuals are being encouraged to continue the feel good festive factor at the event, with both team and fancy dress participation options available.
Susan Crighton, CLAN’s fundraising manager, said: “Last year the Nippy Dipper event saw hundreds of people take to the North Sea for a range of different causes and we’re delighted to be involved again on Boxing Day.
“It’s an incredibly fun event with both individuals and teams taking part and if you like a challenge and fancy shaking off those Boxing Day blues then we’d be delighted to hear from you!”
Last year, nearly 40 people took to the chilly waters on behalf of CLAN, helping raise over £5,000 for the charity, with the money raised going towards its provision of free support services to anyone affected by cancer across the north-east of Scotland.
