Local Jeweller Creates Custom Make Necklace for CLAN

A family run jewellery business in Inverurie has spent weeks designing and creating an exquisite bespoke necklace, to be auctioned at a fundraising event hosted by Stronachs LLP for local charity CLAN Cancer Support.

Steve Mitchell, goldsmith at Sinclairs in Inverurie, based the design of the necklace on the CLAN logo, with a 12 carat amethyst stone secured in a sterling silver setting and displayed on a 20 inch chain.

The stunning piece of jewellery, worth more than £500, will be auctioned at the upcoming Tea in the Park event, a ladies’ afternoon tea party, organised by law firm Stronachs LLP, with all proceeds being contributed to CLAN.

Owner of Sinclairs, Ian Sinclair, whose business raised £20,000 for CLAN last year as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, said it’s been an honour to create the one off design.

“Like Stronachs, we’re passionate about raising money for CLAN because they’re a hugely important charity in the north-east, and one which is very close to our hearts.’’

“When the law firm’s charity and social committee asked if we could donate something for the charity auction, we were more than happy to create something extra special. This is a beautiful and unique piece - one we’ve really enjoyed working on.”

The necklace will be auctioned alongside luxury prizes including a racing experience for two at the Ron Haslam Race School, donated by Regency Cars Buckie and a two night break in Rome for two people with four star accommodation and return flights from Aberdeen, donated by Munro’s Travel.

Susan Crighton, CLAN’s fundraising manager said: “We’re extremely grateful to Sinclairs which continues to go above and beyond in its support of CLAN. We cannot thank them, and all the businesses donating prizes to the auction enough for their crucial support.

“A special thanks also goes to Stronachs for selecting CLAN as their nominated charity this year. We are extremely appreciative of all their fundraising efforts and look forward to the Tea in the Park event in a few weeks time.”
