The benefits of mistletoe therapy will be discussed at the CLAN Cancer Support coffee morning in Inverurie on Monday, February 3.
CLAN’s lead therapist Dr Teresa McCaffery will be talking about the plant and its effect on the immune system. Although best known for appearing at Christmas time, mistletoe therapy has been developed both as an alternative and complementary approach to cancer care.
Gemma Powell, CLAN’s area services co-ordinator, commented: “Mistletoe therapy is not something that a lot of people know about so we’re delighted to have Teresa along to discuss the potential benefits of this therapy for those with cancer.”
The coffee morning will take place at the Catholic Church Hall in North Street, Inverurie at 10.30am and is open to anyone affected by any type of cancer.
CLAN Cancer Support is an independent charity. It is open three days a week in Inverurie offering a drop-in service, complementary therapies, counselling and monthly coffee mornings. For more information visit www.clanhouse.org or contact CLAN’s local co-ordinators on 07834 465602.
