Easter fun in Ballater

Easter is set to spring into action this month in Ballater with a family fun day organised by leading north-east charity CLAN Cancer Support.

The charity is to hold a treasure hunt on Tuesday, April 15, from 12 noon starting from its centre in Bridge Square and is looking for children to join them and mascot Clancy on he day. .

Children will also be able to partake in a spot of chocolate egg decorating at The Glenaden Hotel following the treasure hunt, where prizes and light refreshments will also be available.

The fun day is organised by CLAN’s children and family service team which offers a dedicated and confidential service that allows children, young people and their families to share thoughts and fears they are experiencing as a result of a cancer diagnosis.

Iona Mitchell, CLAN’s children and family service manager, said: “The Easter treasure hunt is open to anyone who would like to come along and join in with the fun and I hope it will be popular with families from Ballater and the surrounding area.

“Spaces are limited so we’d really encourage those looking to come along to get in touch as soon as they can to ensure that they don’t miss out on any of the Easter fun and more importantly the chocolate!

“The day itself is not restricted to families affected by cancer but it does give people the chance to find out what services we provide and how we may be able to help them or someone they know. Members from our children and family service team will be there on the day and they would be delighted to talk a bit more about the type of support we can offer.”

To attend, children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is open to all and to book a free place, please contact Iona Mitchell on 01224 647000 or email iona.mitchell@clanhouse.org before Friday, April 11.
