Dominos staff to run Baker Hughes 10K for CLAN

Staff from an Aberdeen fast-food outlet are hoping they will be able to deliver a huge sum to CLAN Cancer Support this month.

A team of 22 from across four Aberdeen Dominos store is taking part in this year’s Baker Hughes 10K on Sunday, 20 May, and will raise funds for CLAN.

Last year, 11 members of staff from the outlet took part, raising £500 for the charity and the team is hoping to double that amount at this year’s event.

Robert Fenton, store manager of the Kittybrewster and Bridge of Don stores, said: “I am delighted to be taking part in the Baker Hughes 10K on behalf of CLAN Cancer Support.

“This year we are confident that we will be able to smash last year’s total and are aiming to raise around £1000.

“CLAN Cancer Support offer such a fantastic service to the North-east and we are determined to do all we can to help it raise funds. Team Dominos has doubled in team members over the last year and it is great to see so many of the staff here come together to raise money for such a wonderful cause.”

Susan Crighton, fundraising manager for CLAN Cancer Support, added: “We are hugely grateful to Robert and the team from Dominos for their support.

“Taking part in a 10K is not an easy task and everyone at CLAN Cancer Support would like to take this opportunity to thank the team for once again undertaking this challenge in order to help us to raise vital funds.”
