Clan Cancer Support is bringing back its much-loved Monumental Midnight Walk to Orkney this summer.
Keen walkers are invited to set off from Stromness Pierhead at midnight on Saturday, June 21 to tackle a 5,14 or 23 mile route around historic sites including the Ring of Brogdar and Skara Brae.
Registration is now open for those who want to take on one of the distances and raise money for Clan with sign-ups costing £20 and participants kindly requested to generate £80 in sponsorship.
The charity is also looking for volunteers to support the event with opportunities for marshals, qualified first aiders and donation cashiers on the night.
Karen Farquhar, Clan’s area services coordinator, said: “It’s been 12 years since our last Monumental Midnight Walk and people still share their memories with us and reflect on what a special night it was.
“We’re very pleased to bring the event back to the Orkney community in 2025 and hope to give people the chance to relive the experience, as well as inviting new participants to join the fun, either as a participant or a volunteer.
“This is a really unique event which brings local people together to celebrates the beauty and heritage of Orkney whilst raising money for Clan’s vital cancer support services. We’re sure it will be another unforgettable night.”
