Clan is launching a new outreach programme in Aberlour, as the charity aims to reach more people in the community who are impacted by a cancer diagnosis.
Starting from Thursday, May 29, the charity will offer confidential cancer support and information every two weeks at the Fleming Hospital Health Services Hub in Aberlour.
The drop-in sessions are open to anyone with a cancer diagnosis and those who are supporting a loved one through a cancer journey.
This is the latest outreach initiative to be established by the charity with regular programmes already established in Forres and Lossiemouth.
Julie Ferguson, Clan Moray area services co-ordinator said: “Clan is committed to ensuring our support is available in the hearts of the communities that need us and we are pleased to be expanding our outreach services to Aberlour.
“We hope this fortnightly service enables people who are impacted by a cancer diagnosis to access free emotional support, giving them the opportunity to speak to someone about what they’re going through in confidence.”
Clan provides emotional and physical support for people of all ages who are impacted by a cancer diagnosis with the charity providing 1,400 drop-in appointments to people in Elgin over the last year and welcoming 290 new clients.
Clan will be at the Hospital Health Services Hub in Aberlour from 10am – 1pm from Thursday, May 29 and every two weeks thereafter. No appointments are necessary for this service.
The charity is currently looking for listening support volunteers to help with the coordination of this service.
