CLAN call for artists to draw support for 30th Anniversary

A leading north-east cancer support charity is calling on local artists to take part in a special exhibition that will help mark its 30th anniversary.

CLAN Cancer Support is inviting artists to submit an original piece of artwork that the charity will mount, frame, exhibit and sell at an event held at CLAN House in Aberdeen over the weekend of November 15 to November 17.

The exhibition and sale, being held for the first time by the charity, hopes to showcase unique pieces of work from hundreds of artists across all the areas that CLAN operate in.

Susan Crighton, CLAN’s fundraising manager, said: “As CLAN marks its 30 years of providing support for anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer, we have developed a number of initiatives to help raise awareness of our services to potential clients and our art exhibition will play a pivotal role in this year’s programme of events.

“We’re looking for artists to submit a piece of original artwork that we intend to initially price at £100 for exhibition and sale over the weekend in November.

“We’re incredibly excited about this new event on our calendar and any contributions are of course greatly appreciated by so many here at CLAN. We have an annual expenditure of £2.4 million on services in the north-east, Moray and the Northern Isles and events like this help us meet this target, as well as encouraging people through our doors to hear more about how we can help them and their loved ones.”

The deadline for submission of artwork is Monday, September 30, and information packs are available on request. To find out more, please contact CLAN on 01224 647000 or email enquiries@clanhouse.org
