Kingswells based oil and gas company Apache North Sea Limited has announced its support of a popular north-east fundraising walk and fun day.

Apache will be the headline sponsor of CLAN at the Castle on Sunday, September 2, at Deeside’s Crathes Castle.

The event, which is organised by leading north-east cancer charity CLAN Cancer Support is in its second year and comprises three sponsored walks and a family fun day.

Not content with just providing their support, a team of Apache employees and family members will also be pulling on their walking boots to take part in the day.

The sponsored walks cover 1.4 miles, 5.7 miles and 12.3 miles and are suitable for all ages whether you take part as an individual, a family, group or corporate team. A family fun day, including inflatables, children’s activities and catering, will also take place in front of the historic castle between 10am and 4pm.

Fiona Fernie, CLAN Cancer Support’s Head of Income Generation and Business Development, is delighted to welcome Apache on board.

She said: “We cannot thank the team at Apache enough for their continued support and enthusiasm to be a part of CLAN at the Castle.

“The event is a great way to get out there and enjoy some of the fantastic countryside we have here in Deeside and it’s also a great way to promote and encourage physical activity for people of all ages and fitness.

“Everything raised on the day will help to support CLAN and ensure we can continue to be there for people affected by a cancer diagnosis not only in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire but throughout Moray, Orkney and Shetland.

“There is still time to join the Apache team by signing up as a corporate team, as individuals or with friends and family. It’s a great day out for everyone.”

David Rendall, chairperson of Apache’s Charity and community Outreach Committee said: “Apache is delighted to be supporting this great event. Not only will this benefit people suffering serious illness – it’s an opportunity for our staff and the community to get involved and stay active.”
