As a teenager Shelagh was captivated by the novel ‘The Silver Darlings’ by Neil M Gunn and tales of the rich fishing heritage of the north and north-east. This mosiac design is inspired by these silver shoals and is made using recycled mirrored and fused glass.

Pentland Ferries is an Orcadian family business that runs a ferry service connecting Orkney to the Scottish mainland. The vessel on the route makes three crossings per day in each direction between St Margaret’s Hope in South Ronaldsay and Gills Bay in Caithness, carrying both passengers and vehicles to/from the islands.
