Dream
📍 Aberdeen Arts Centre
Fiona Chance/Createwithus
Fiona’s BookBench, Dream is inspired by the iconic painting The Great Wave. As we grow we start to fear a sense of lack of control. The big wave symbolises this feeling of powerlessness and instability. This piece urges us to dream, create and play without fear no matter what this unpredictable world throws our way. This sculpture is part of The Tall Ships Short Story Trail – a collection of 12 specially-commissioned BookBench works, as part of the artistic celebration of the Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025.
The Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025
The Tall Ships return to Aberdeen in July 2025, their first visit in 28 years. Host Port Partners: Aberdeen City Council, Port of Aberdeen and Aberdeen Inspired are delighted to partner with Clan Cancer Care and hope that this exciting trail will help people to discover more of our great city. This sculpture funded by UK Government. Like the Tall Ships, the benches are free to be enjoyed by all. Please take a seat and perhaps pause to reflect on Aberdeen’s remarkable relationship with the North Sea.
