Santa’s Grotto Gearing Up To Support CLAN This Christmas
The sound of sleigh bells have been heard across Aberdeen as Santa Claus prepares to make a welcome return to the Granite City this festive season. Santa and his elves have set up their new home in the Bon Accord Centre and are busily gearing up for the official launch today (Wednesday, November 16).
All proceeds from the Christmas Grotto will be donated to charity partner CLAN Cancer Support, which has helped organise the festive event.
Santa will take up residence in his grotto and be ready to meet children and their families throughout November and December.
Opening times are:
Saturday, November 19 10am to 4pm
Sunday, November 20 10am to 4pm
Friday, November 25 10am to 4pm
Saturday, November 26 10am to 4pm
Sunday, November 27 10am to 4pm
Saturday, December 3 10am to 4pm
Sunday, December 4 10am to 4pm
Saturday, December 10 10am to 4pm
Sunday, December 11 10am to 4pm
From Saturday, December 17, open every day 10am to 4pm
Christmas Eve 10am to 1pm
Santa’s Grotto – which will be located on the upper floor of the Bon Accord Centre – will hold pride of place in a snow filled seasonal scene. Children are invited to visit the centre to meet Santa and receive a gift.
Colette Backwell, chief executive of CLAN, said: “Santa’s Grotto was a resounding success last year and we are delighted to partner with Bon Accord & St Nicholas again this Christmas. The centre has done a tremendous amount to support us throughout the year and this is hugely appreciated.
“I’m sure those who pay a visit to the Grotto will have a great time and staff from CLAN will be on hand to help Santa and his elves as everyone gets into the festive spirit. Residents from across the north-east have always been very supportive of our fundraising work and we hope they take the time to meet Santa and help us continue our crucial work.
“All proceeds from the Grotto will help us to provide a range of free support services to anyone who has been affected by cancer across the north and north-east of Scotland which can mean so much to so many people in the area.”
