At Clan, we have our team of superheroes who make it their mission to support clients in any way they can. We spoke to one of our new CFS Practitioners, Sally Whyte, to get to know one of the many superheroes who have the power to help.

Tell us a bit about yourself, who you are, where have you come from?

I am from and live in Aberdeen. For the past 10 years I ran my childminding business, but due to the pandemic we closed down. My back ground is in social work, I have worked in mental health and child protection.

What made you want to work for Clan?

Clan has such a good reputation and with my background in social work, counselling and childminding it felt like a good match to come here. I so enjoy working with children and families, and doing direct therapeutic work with children, so I am delighted to have got the job.

How did you end up in this line of work?

When I left school I got a place on the social work course, but I almost became a librarian! My first job once I qualified was at Cornhill Hospital. I have also worked with the Pre-School Play Association, Barnardo’s and various jobs within the social work department.

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I am a huge Doctor Who fan!

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I really wanted to be an author when I was younger.

Who is your hero?

Definitely Agatha Christie!

Can you give us two truths and one lie about yourself?

1. I am a Nana

2. I am a bit of a gamer, my favourite is Super Mario Galaxy

3. I play the accordion.

Sadly I cannot play the accordion. I am very good at Mario Galaxy though!
