CLAN’s Annual Auction

A range of items from yesteryear are to come under the hammer next week as part of CLAN Cancer Support's annual fundraising auction.

CLAN’s charity shop auction will be held on Wednesday, May 7, from 7pm to 10pm at the charity’s CLAN House on Westburn Road. Those interested in attending the event are being offered the chance to gain an insight into the lots with two viewing sessions scheduled for 1pm to 4pm and 5.30pm to 6.30pm on the same day.

The event, which is being kindly supported by Aberdeen Antiques Centre, will see an impressive array of furniture, art, ceramics, jewellery, vintage items and curios on offer, all of which have been donated to CLAN either through its busy charity shops or specifically for the auction.

Over 100 lots will be available for keen bidders to get their hands on, with the auction being carried out live on the night. Among the items expected to be popular will be a Moorcroft mini vase, Sadler Clarice Cliff style teapot, a 1935 Burleigh Ware butterfly jug, a 1960s sterling silver Quinn watch, a melodeon and two Merrythought bears.

Lorna Gates, senior shop manager with CLAN, said: “This year, the auction really has a range of quality items within it, with some fantastic lots that I’m sure will generate a great amount on interest with attendees and potential bidders.

“A number of the pieces on offer have been sourced from our charity shops that can be found across Aberdeen. We’d definitely encourage people to come down and view the pieces as you never know what might catch your eye; there really is something for everyone.

“The auction itself is always a fun and entertaining evening and I’m sure this year will be no different. I’d like to thank Aberdeen Antiques Centre for its support of the event and we look forward to welcoming people for the viewing sessions throughout the day and the actual auction on the night.”

Tickets for the auction can be purchased in advance from any of CLAN’s charity shops and from CLAN House on Westburn Road. For further information on the auction and to request a full programme of the lots on offer, please contact Steph Dowling on steph.dowling@clanhouse.org
