CLAN showcases services at pamper event in Shetland

CLAN Cancer Support is hosting a pamper event at the Sound Hall in Lerwick on Sunday 4 November 2012 from 2.30 – 4.30 pm.

The event is free of charge and open to anyone who has been affected by cancer whether personally or as a carer, family member or close friend. CLAN will be offering taster sessions of a range of complementary therapies including reflexology, reiki, and visualisation. Teas and homebakes will be available too.

Shetland Services Coordinator, Janette Budge, said, “A cancer diagnosis brings with it a lot of stress for patients and those closest to them. CLAN offers a range of complementary therapies that can help reduce stress and promote relaxation and wellbeing. Many people have not experienced therapies previously and I would encourage anyone who has been affected by cancer to come along to these taster sessions to see how they might help.” To book a place please contact Janette on 01595 720320 or shetland@clanhouse.org For those who wish there will also be an opportunity to buy CLAN Christmas cards and raffle tickets.

At the end of September CLAN marked the official opening of its support centre and charity shop in Lerwick. Services, which are provided free of charge, include a drop-in for support and information, complementary therapies and monthly support groups. Further information available at www.clanhouse.org
