CLAN looking for Nippy Dippers

CLAN Cancer Support is appealing for plucky volunteers to undertake a Boxing Day dip on its behalf.

The charity is once again taking part in the annual Nippy Dippers event, which is organised by the Aberdeen Lions Club, and will take place at Aberdeen Beach on Boxing Day.

Last year more than 20 dippers helped CLAN Cancer Support to raise over £5000 by taking part in the popular event.

CLAN Cancer Support’s fundraising manager, Susan Crighton, is confident that the 2012 event will prove just as successful as previous years.

Susan said: “Despite the nature of the event, and the freezing cold conditions, we always find there are plenty of people willing to take a break from all the festivities to do a spot of fundraising. It was fantastic to raise over £5000 last year, and hopefully we can raise even more this year.

“Those who take part always have fun doing so and I am sure this year will prove no different.”

The event kicks off at 10.30am on Boxing Day. For further information on how to sign up to support CLAN at this year’s Nippy Dipper, please contact Steph Dowling on 01224 647000 or email steph.dowling@clanhouse.org
