Runners from across the North-east are being asked to don their running shoes in aid of a local charity.
CLAN Cancer Support is now signing up participants for next year’s Balmoral Road Race which will take place on Saturday, April 27.
It is the first time that the organisation has been selected as a nominated charity for the event and has 20 places for the 10k race and 10 places for the 5k race available for keen runners who would like to take part on its behalf.
Susan Crighton, fundraising manager at CLAN Cancer Support, said: “The Balmoral Road Race is always one of the most popular runs in the North-east calendar, and CLAN Cancer Support is delighted to have been selected as one of the event’s nominated charities for the very first time.
“There are 30 guaranteed places available on team CLAN and we would appreciate the support of any member of the public thinking of taking part in April’s event.”
The event will bring over 5,000 participants to Deeside to take part on a route that runs through the heart of the Balmoral Estate, finishing up in front of Balmoral Castle.
