Spotting cancer early can make a real difference in your diagnosis. The earlier your detection is, the more likely your treatment will be successful. If something doesn’t feel right, it is best to get it checked. You know your body the best.

There can be many different reasons for delays in a cancer diagnosis. For example, you may not be aware of your symptoms, you might be worried about taking up the time of your doctor, you might be worried about what the doctor might find and lots more. It’s vitally important for you to see your doctor if you spot anything unusual in your body or suspect you might have cancer.

Easier Detected Cancers

There are many cancers that are easily detectable such as Breast cancer, testicular cancer, Thyroid cancer, Melanoma, Cervical cancer, Hodgkins Lymphoma and more. There are numerous screening tests that can be carried out if you suspect you have any of these types of cancer so it’s important to know your own body and what doesn’t feel right.

Key Signs and Symptoms

There can be many different types of symptoms for different cancers, such as changes to a mole, unusual changes to your breasts or unusual swelling anywhere on your body. Some signs are more obvious than others but it’s important to notice these changes and see your GP if something doesn’t feel quite right for you.

Speaking to your Doctor

Talking to your doctor isn’t always easy but it’s important to remember they are there to help you through your journey. Be honest with your symptoms and how you are feeling and make sure to mention everything you’ve noticed about your body changes. For so many reasons you might feel nervous going to your doctor about cancer but one of the most important things to remember is they are professionals who can advise you on the best course of action.
