Paul Lawrie just the ticket for CLAN
CLAN launched its annual car raffle by selling the first ticket to its new patron.
Ryder Cup star and Open champion Paul Lawrie was first in line when the raffle tickets for CLAN Cancer Support’s festive fundraiser went on sale at the Bon Accord Centre on Saturday, November 10.
The raffle, which is organised by members of the Rotary Club in the area for CLAN Cancer Support, will be drawn on Christmas Eve, with a Mini First up for grabs for the lucky winner.
Debbie Thomson, chief executive at CLAN Cancer Support, said: “We are delighted to announce that Paul Lawrie has accepted our invitation to become a patron on CLAN.
“Paul is a local hero and it is wonderful that he is joining us as a patron. I look forward to working alongside him and am sure he will be a fantastic addition to the team.”
Paul Lawrie said: “Everyone in the North-east is aware of the incredible work CLAN does throughout the region.
“There cannot be many people who have not been touched by the charity’s efforts, it has made such a huge difference to people’s lives.
“I’m honoured to be joining the team as patron and looking forward to helping to build on the success CLAN has enjoyed.”
CLAN Cancer Support is an independent charity which provides comfort support and information, free of charge, for anyone, of any age, affected by any type of cancer. CLAN aims to support people to reduce anxiety, stress and to increase their ability to cope with the affects of a serious illness.
