Learn More About The Benefits Of Relaxation At CLAN’s Coffe Morning

The benefits of relaxation will be the focus at CLAN Cancer Support’s monthly coffee morning in Inverurie.

The leading north-east cancer support charity will welcome CLAN therapist Laura Davison to the event who will give a talk about how relaxation can support health and wellbeing and give tips on how to wind down. Laura leads a weekly relaxation class at the centre and will help attendees learn calming techniques to try at home.

Gemma Powell, CLAN’s area services co-ordinator, said: “Many of the services we offer at CLAN are designed to aid relaxation. Often people affected by cancer are understandably tense, anxious and worried. Being able to relax has massive benefits including better sleep and increased appetite.

“Laura’s relaxation class has proved popular in Inverurie and I am sure she will lead an interesting discussion at the coffee morning. She will give an insight into different relaxation techniques and how they can help make a difference to people’s lives, which will be helpful to those who want to learn a bit more about it.”

The coffee morning will take place at 10.30am on Monday, November 2, at the Catholic Church Hall on North Street, Inverurie, and is open to anyone affected by any type of cancer. Anyone who would like to find out more about CLAN’s local services and how they can get involved is also welcome.
