An Elgin charity is hosting an open afternoon to celebrate its birthday

CLAN Cancer Support, which has bases across the north-east is inviting local people to come along to its Go Purple for CLAN event on 20th September 2019, from 1pm – 4pm at the Royal Oak Hotel, Cullen.

CLAN’s annual birthday celebration is being held across the charity’s centres, from Shetland to Inverurie, with events taking place from 22nd – 28th of September. The afternoon will include home bakes and a raffle to raise funds for CLAN Cancer Support.

The charity has a centre on Elgin’s High Street, and provides support service in Buckie, Forres and Lossiemouth. As well as craft groups and coffee mornings, CLAN Elgin hosts ladies’ and men’s support groups, along with relaxation and mindfulness sessions.

Tracy Sellar, CLAN services area manager said: “We are delighted to invite the people of Elgin and surrounding areas to come and celebrate our birthday. We will have some lovely home bakes on offer, as well as tea and coffee.

“CLAN offers support for anyone who is affected by cancer, whether that be someone who has a cancer diagnosis, or their friends or family members. We provide emotional and practical support, and wellbeing services to help people cope with the effects of a serious illness.

“CLAN Elgin is a very welcoming place, where anyone can just come in and find support and wellbeing services. We encourage everyone to come along to our open afternoon to help support our work and see for themselves the services we have on offer.”

Tickets for CLAN Elgin’s open afternoon are £3 each, available on the door or at the Royal Oak Hotel, Cullen.
