CLAN’s Aberdeen Shops launch annual Silent Auction

CLAN Cancer Support launched its annual silent auction today (Monday, 27 August ).

The charity's popular auction will run until Friday, 7 September, giving potential bidders plenty of time to get their offers in.

Bids for any of the items at the auction can be made by visiting the CLAN shops in person at 117 Rosemount Place and 30 Chapel Street, Aberdeen or by calling 01224 622894 (Rosemount) or 01224 639292 (Chapel Street)

Among the items up for grabs is a vintage mandolin - still in its original case - a signed photo of ballerina Alicia Marakova, presented in an antique frame, as well as a 1917 telescope.

The charity has also been gifted a Victorian two-piece complete with bustle and hand-made lace, which is worth a three figure sum.

This is the ninth year that CLAN has organised a silent auction as part of its fundraising activities and the charity hopes to exceed the total raised last year, which was in excess of £7000.

CLAN Cancer Support’s senior shop manager, Anne Scaife, said: “The silent auction always proves to be a very popular event for CLAN, and I am sure this year will be no different.

“Once again we have received some fantastic lots for the auction and we are grateful to everyone who has donated an item.

“This is a brilliant way to contribute to CLAN Cancer Support as not only can individuals secure a great item for themselves but they can also help us to raise much needed funds which allow us to keep offering such important services to our clients.”
